7 September 2008 15,078 views 6 Comments

Below are the list of top online music sources you can listen at for free!

1. Musicovery

Musicovery offers a new way of listening to music. It won’t let you choose the artist you want to listen to, not even the songs — but it will allow you to specify the genre, year and the atmosphere of the songs that will be played via its “mood console.”

2. Pandora

Pandora is the personalized internet radio service that helps you find new music based on your old and current favorites. Much like Musicovery it won’t let you choose the songs that will be played, instead it will suggest songs based on your favorites. Pandora is only accessible within the US (although there are proxy servers that would let you by-pass the country identification system).

3. Imeem

Imeem is popular to social networking sites because it let its users to embed their music to their MySpace, Friendster and Facebook profiles. It features music, videos, playlist and its growing number of communities.

4. Finetune

Finetune is personally one of my favorite online music player. Just like Pandora, it suggests you the songs you probably would like based on the initial artist you played. It also gives you a bits of facts about the artist currently playing. Finetune has a desktop version of its online player which you can download to your PCs for an uninterrupted music listening.

6. Bedtime Tunes

Bedtime Tunes is an exciting online music service wich allows you to randomly listen to users finely selected mellow music that will surely help you relax and sleep. I personally listened to this online music player last week for a straight 7 days, and I’m telling you I really had peaceful nights. The website’s playlist is “updated nightly.”

7. Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight is Bedtime Tune’s daylight counterpart. It offers up-beat music that will surely turn your sleepy afternoons up and going.

8. Grooveshark Lite

Grooveshark isn’t different from other static online music players. What sets it apart from the rest, is its sleek design, full flash integration and the option to download the music — legally.

9. Anywhere.FM

Anywhere.FM is a community based online music player. It lets you listen to music uploaded by other users based on the song’s genre. Aside from this, you can upload your too, and when you logged in from another computer, your playlist will be loaded — making your music accessible anytime anywhere.

10. Skreemr

On our tenth spot is actually not an online music player (even though it can do that too). Skreemer is an MP3 search engine which has the ability to play the music it searches through its embeddable music player widget. Skreemr also boasts its AudioRank system, the new scoring system to help put the best quality, most reliable files at the top of the results.

Stumbleupon User? Don’t forget to hit that “I Like It” button!

Got a sleek online music player you know that isn’t on the list? Just add it via comment and maybe I could include it on my next list.

Here’s another good one. This one doesn’t let you save music without paying for a premium account or whatever, but it will let you note “favorite” songs and will play them more often. It’s divided pretty specifically into genres. Very few to no advertisements (although I admit they have gotten a bit worse about that)

What about http://www.ilike.com ? It lets you add all the songs you like and listen to some part-length, some full-length music, and has YouTube videos embedded so you can watch music videos. Plus recently it’s updated to include creatable playlists and by-artist or by-album radio stations.
